BREVARD COUNTY
COMMISSIONER
NOVEMBER 8, 2022 CANDIDATE
"I Never Stopped Running. . ."
Hey Family,

Hope all is well! My name is Dontavious "Tay" Smith (aka "Duh Mayuh") and I'm running for Brevard County Commissioner on behalf of District 2; serving the areas of Cocoa, Rockledge, Merritt Island, Cocoa Beach, Port Canaveral, Cape Canaveral, Patrick Air Force Base and Snug Harbor in the November 8, 2022 general election as a Non-Party Affiliated ("NPA") candidate and I thought I'd reach out to introduce myself to those that don't know me and re-introduce myself to those that do (YOU); my friends, family, local businesses and community leaders of Brevard County, to ask for your endorsement, social media support and most importantly (if you your able to VOTE in District 2 of Brevard County) your DECISION to make me the next Brevard County Commissioner for District 2.
I'm a 36 year old - lifelong resident of Cocoa, FL who has a desire for public service and innovating the political landscape through accountability, transparency and civility for public officials. I'm a 2003 graduate of Rockledge High School, a 2008 graduate of Florida A&M University, CEO of DTay Smith Holdings, LLC, Folk Tell Publishing Group, Inc. and Duh Mayuh's Deeply Rooted Foundation, Inc. (501c-3 non-profit) and I’ve decided to enrich my county by running for District 2 - Commissioner. I've had a vision before and since running for Mayor of Cocoa in 2008 to modernize our communities and our everyday living. Being exposed to and being apart of different lifestyles and cultures, has influenced me to utilize those experiences to accommodate the Board of Commissioners with transparent and diverse policy making, planning, organizing, staffing, directing, coordinating, reporting and budgeting.
I am known for my love for people, my colorful appearance, trustworthiness, open-minded knowledge and illustrative creativity, and seek to uplift all cultures with such through my candidacy.
Within My Candidacy, I look to:
-
Promote the legalization of marijuana in the State of Florida for adults 21 and above, and treated the same as alcohol to generate millions of dollars in revenue to help our educational resources, infrastructure, employee salaries, county projects, and of coarse jobs and entrepreneurship. You have the opportunity to sign the petition HERE, to get the initiative on the November 2022 ballot!
-
Propose new ideas for the restoration of the Indian River Lagoon, tourism tax, population growth and development expansion.
